Selectus designs and manufactures narrow fabrics: woven edge ribbons, trims, bindings, tapes and webbings. Locations Operating in two principle locations - in the UK and an expanding site in DeQing, China - Selectus strives to understand the exact needs of our customers and to respond with products from our existing wide range or designed to suit specific applications. Research and Design Our dedicated Research and Development team enables innovative product development along with bespoke manufacturing for technical and industrial narrow fabrics. Selectus will work with you from concept, through sampling and prototyping and into production to ensure total integration of our narrow fabrics into your application. Quality Assurance and Accreditation Selectus maintain a Total Quality Management System, ensuring our products meet specific performance criteria whilst we work to maintain security, improve efficiency and limit environmental impact. We hold BS EN ISO 9001:2000 and our products are authorised to carry the worldwide Oeko-Tex standard 100 textile ecology label. The Selectus laboratories are fully accredited to ensure our tests conform to the rigorous demands of leading clothing manufacturers and retailers. Our functional applications are tested to ensure they perform repeatedly, in demanding environments and life-saving situations.

Brief History Selectus started out originally as a Swiss company, manufacturing bias bindings under the trademark 'Fillawant'. Weaving ribbon production began in the UK in 1936, with a purpose built factory located in Biddulph, North Staffordshire. Selectus also lay claim to the fact that we were the original pioneers of velcro and were the sole licensees and manufacturers in the UK. Over the years there have been many additions to the site in Biddulph, including a dye house and specially designed order picking warehouse. Selectus still trades and manufactures from its Biddulph site today and continues to be renowned as one of the UK's finest ribbon manufacturers. |
